The JB Jazz And Blues Band
The Things People Say:-
"After the first few bars of the first number it was obvious that we were in for a cracker of a session from the JB Jazz & Blues Band. JB is John Beckingham, pianist and vocalist who brought together Roger Manwaring on Tenor/Soprano Sax and vocals (also striking hat and shoes),Andy Wood, a fine young guitar player also on vocals, Paul Holder on Drums and Vocals, and Tony Capaldi on upright Bass and vocals.
With numbers that ranged from "Just a Gigolo" to "Nuages" via "Flying Home, "The Joint is Jumping" to "Jump, Jive & Wail", our audience was treated to jazz and blues of the very highest quality from musicians who so obviously enjoyed the music; so much so that I had more requests to book the band again than I think I have ever had before. To get together five such talented musicians was no mean feat, to get five musicians that also sang was a very welcome added bonus!"
John Howell - Jazz Club 90
"I wish to thank you and the "gang" for playing so wonderfully for us. You can tell how much people enjoyed your playing as they stayed until you left, and the applause was genuine. You even got some people dancing - that was a first!!!! Your energy and very obvious enjoyment of what you do is transferred to the audience so everyone joins in"
David W. Owen - Chairman. The Royal National Lifeboat Institute. Newent and District Branch.
"Everybody's favourite band"
Paula Acxil - The Daffodil (Cheltenham International Jazz Festival Venue)
"I would say that they were the highlight of the episode of "Spaced" that they appeared in. Very professional and a joy to work with".
Simon Pegg - actor, comedian, and writer of the hit channel 4 Comedy "Spaced" and film comedy "Shaun of the Dead".
"Thank you for a wonderful evening.....so many people came up to me and told me how much they had enjoyed themselves".
Councillor Geraldine Gillespie - Lady Mayor of Gloucester 2004
